Miss Pauline teaches Ballet, Modern Lyrical and private coaching

Miss Pauline was born in Boorowa, West NSW. She started dancing at the tender age of 10 at Trixie Boss Ballet school. For the next 5 years Miss Pauline’s desire to dance saw her taking classes with some very talented teachers, including Wendy Greenaway, Martin Rubestein, Monica and Joan Halliday and Isobelle Anderson.

Due to her talent and dedication, she passed Advanced Levels at 15 years of age. And because she was such an exceptional Ballet Student she was selected to attend a luncheon with one of her biggest influences, Dame Margot Fonteyn.

She started teaching at the age of 17 under the guidance of Valerie Greenaway. At 19 she was successful in auditioning for a Ballet Company but sadly she was told she would no longer be able to dance due to an illness. This did not deter Miss Pauline, who went on dancing and teaching for the next 33 years and qualified to teach Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Contemporary.

In her youth she danced professionally with the first Modern Company in Australia under the direction of Ronnie Arnold. Whilst Freelance teaching in Melbourne, Miss Pauline helped coach 2 winners of the famous Genée International Ballet Competition. Pioneering as Artistic Director of the Macarthur Youth Ballet in the mid 80’s, she produced works alongside Sasha Alexander (ex Kirov, Russia) and Cheryl Stock (ex-Dance North).

During the past 30 years, she has had 26 students gain professional dance contracts nationally and internationally.  Each graduating year, she has students who are accepted into top finishing ballet courses in Australia and overseas, such as Prague Vaganova Academy, USA Universities, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Festival Ballet in London, the Boston Ballet School, Australian Ballet school, the Australian ballet school junior interstate program, Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts, the Joffrey Ballet school, Victorian College of the Arts and the MacDonald College.

2016 marks Miss Pauline’s 50 years of Teaching Children the love of Dance!

“APA has taught me so much in the 11 years that I have attended and I am always improving. Such a wonderful atmosphere from students and teachers. I have made some of the best friends and grown a close connection with many of the teachers. I have created memories that will carry through with me for the rest of my life. It has been incredible how much I have grown from dancing with the APA family. I am now a qualified Tap teacher at APA.”
