Parents can watch the classes on the TV screens located in the foyer. We also have Open Classes on the last week of Term 1, 2 and 3 where parents are welcome to watch their child’s class(s). You are always welcome to make an appointment with your child’s teacher if you wish to speak to them.
Yes, all our teachers and staff at the Academy of Performing Arts, Macarthur have current working with children checks.
Yes, our Company troupes and soloists are able to participate in competitions but they are not compulsory. They also participate in community events throughout the year.
No, exams are not compulsory but we do encourage them as it provides incentive and encouragement to the student to move forward in their grades.
Uniforms help children create a sense of belonging. At the Academy, all students from the Buzzy Bees class and up wear uniforms.
The Magic Rainbow and Wigglebugs wear clothes they like and can move freely in.
All fees are due on the first day of each term.
You will receive the best discounts if payment is made in full on the first day of each term, via direct deposit.
Incentives include:
- Discount 2.5% of your full bill
- No Credit Card Fee
- Sibling Discount given
- A further price reduction for over 4 classes
½ Term in advance payments via direct debit or pay via electronic funds transfer directly into our bank account:
- No Credit Card Fee
- Sibling Discount given
- Price reduction for over 4 classes
(Payment due on the 1st day of each term and Monday of week 5)
½ Term in advance payments at front office or by phone
- Sibling Discount given
- No fees for cheque/savings account or Cash
- Incur a 2.5% administration fee
- Incur an extra 2.5% Credit Card Fee
(Payment due on the 1st day of each term and Monday of week 5)
Depending on the level class sizes may vary. Between 10 – 14 students per class. This is to ensure students receive an equal amount of 1 on 1 time with their teachers so they can reach the outcomes for each year.

Toddler (mummy & me) classes run for 30 mins
Pre-schooler and pre-primary classes run for 45 minutes.
Primary, Grade 1 and up run for 1 hour.
The Academy of Performing Arts holds 2 junior concerts and 1 senior concert at the end of each year. We try our best to ensure each child (junior) only has to only attend 1 concert although sometimes this is impossible to achieve, and they may be required to attend both.
For those 2 – 3 years old. The Wigglebugs are $12 per 45min class
Buzzy bees & Dancing Sprites and Pre-primary are $12 per 45min class
Primary classes and up $16 per hour
All classes must be paid for whether attended or not and except for Buzzy Bees, refunds are not given.
We allow 2 make up classes per term, if your child is unable to attend due to illness but must advise the studio prior to class commencing.
No, but we do encourage students to do so, as this is a wonderful opportunity to shine on stage!
Yes, we have a small annual registration fee of $25 payable at the beginning of each year.
At the Academy of Performing Arts, Macarthur, your little one can start music and movement activities at 18 months old. We have The Magic Rainbow for 18 month olds to 2years and Wiggle bugs for the 2 -3 yr. Both of these classes are mummy and me style classes.
The first dance class they do on their own is Buzzy Bees at 3yrs of age. This is an introductory class where your precious little one gets used to mum not being there and start following the teacher instructions.
Toddler classes, Pre-primary and Primary Classes, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern Lyrical and Contemporary, Hip Hop, Theatre Arts and Drama, Singing and Piano.

We use the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus for Classical Ballet
Education in Dance and Theatre Arts (EDTA) is followed for Jazz, Modern and Theatre Arts

Uniforms needs are readily available for purchase from the Studio Reception. You can also find them at good dance retailers such as Bloch.
