Growing up as a dancer there are certain corrections and ideas that you will hear over and over again from your teachers. It then makes sense when you become a dance teacher yourself that you would pass on those ideas. And on it goes.
But every now and then we need to stop and consider the merit of some long held notions in dance. As research progresses and we learn more and more about the science of our bodies, it is important that the information reaches over into the dance world. Teaching methods and ideas need to be correspondingly updating.
